One of the country’s elite netball teams has gained a new sponsor in the form of Paycare.
We are so excited to announce our partnership with Severn Stars – the Netball Superleague franchise co-owned by the University of Worcester and the University of Gloucestershire.
The team includes many of the best UK and international players – including new signing Cathrine Tuivaiti from New Zealand, who is one of the most high-profile netballers in the world.
Our Partnerships Engagement Officer Sally Bromley, herself a keen player and fan, explained it had now become the UK’s number one female participation sport – gaining a higher profile in recent years after England won the 2018 Commonwealth gold medal with a last-second goal against Australia.
With the Commonwealth Games being hosted in the Midlands this year, it’s hoped this will not only gain England another medal, but will also further increase participation and spectator numbers.
Sally, who attended the season launch with Stephen Burton-Pye (one of our Corporate Account Managers) added:
“We are absolutely delighted to be partnering with Severn Stars, and are very excited as to how this partnership could develop.
“Severn Stars is a fantastic club whose values and ethics very much mirror those at Paycare. We love the idea of working with such a high-profile team, and relish the opportunity of developing our community links throughout the Severn Stars franchise region stretching from Staffordshire to Gloucestershire.
Severn Stars’ General Manager, Claire Sanders, said she was pleased Paycare had decided to join their sponsor family.
“They have come on board at a very exciting time for the franchise,” she said. “We are very grateful for their support and are looking forward to developing the partnership over the season.”
