Of course, during December, the team here at Paycare indulged in a few too many chocolates and mince pies, arranged the odd office sing-a-long to the usual festive anthems and needless to say there was a fabulous party. But we were also very keen to ensure, as a team, that we helped those in our local area with extremely limited means to also celebrate Christmas.
It is part and parcel of our culture and everyday life here at Paycare to support local charities, worthwhile causes and initiatives but we wanted to do something extra for Christmas and chose to support the Free Radio West Midlands team in raising funds for Cash for Kids. This is a national charity which responds to the needs of children in our communities so they can live life to the full and realise their individual potential.
At Christmas time, the focus of this fantastic organisation turns to raising funds for Christmas presents for children who otherwise may not have received anything. We were delighted to be able to donate funds from our Christmas Jumper day, as well as provide gift donations to this cause and just before we broke up for the holidays a handful of the Paycare team took the day out to help sort and distribute the gifts that had been donated.
Tom Reeves, Charity Fundraising Executive at Free Radio was the regional organiser and was clearly delighted with the results. “Thanks to the generosity of our listeners and businesses across the West Midlands, we’ve been able to ensure nearly 5000 children received a present this Christmas. This is our first year supporting Cash for Kids and we are thrilled with what has been achieved.”
