We’re proud to be celebrating a successful partnership with fellow local not-for-profit organisation, the Kingswood Trust — a relationship that has helped ensure children and vulnerable adults across the city can continue enjoying the benefits of the outdoors.

As a Health Cash Plan provider with more than 150 years of commitment to the health and wellbeing of the Wolverhampton community, we at Paycare are delighted to mark a volunteering milestone with the Kingswood Trust, a charity dedicated to providing environmental and outdoor experiences for local people.

As part of our commitment to both our team and our communities, every Paycare employee receives two additional paid days off each year specifically for volunteering, fundraising, or giving back. Over the past six years, many of our colleagues have chosen to spend this time supporting the Kingswood Trust — taking part in activities such as maintaining animal enclosures, painting sheds and air raid shelters, cleaning solitary bee nesters, and even flattening mole hills.

The Kingswood Trust, near Albrighton, has a rich history. Established in 1923 as a holiday camp for children with respiratory diseases, it gave young people the chance to escape the city and connect with nature. After serving as a holiday camp during the Second World War, it became a residential school for children with additional health needs before transitioning into an environmental centre in the 1970s. In 2014, it became an independent charity.

As a charity, the Trust is supported through grants, donations, and — crucially — volunteers. Their volunteer programme plays an essential role in maintaining the site’s grounds and facilities, ensuring the team can continue offering high‑quality outdoor day and residential experiences.

Paycare CEO, Ant Burns, said:
“The Kingswood Trust is an incredible facility that gives individuals and families the chance to enjoy the outdoors in a safe and inspiring environment. We’re incredibly proud to support the fantastic team there — come blazing sunshine or drizzly rain — through our volunteering initiative. As an organisation committed to nurturing the health and wellbeing of our local communities, partnering with the Kingswood Trust was a natural fit for us, and we look forward to continuing our work together for many years to come.”

Rachel Wells, Headteacher and Charity Manager at the Kingswood Trust, added:
“We’ve been delighted to build such a longstanding and positive relationship with Paycare. Our aim is to provide accessible, nature‑connecting opportunities for the whole community, especially those experiencing hardship — and we can only do this thanks to individuals and teams who give their time through our volunteer programme. Our opportunities are varied and we like to think there’s something for everyone. Thank you, Paycare, for partnering with us and for all your hard work.”

At Paycare, we’re dedicated to supporting the health and happiness of the UK through our range of healthcare cash plans — designed to ease financial pressure and encourage a proactive approach to wellbeing for individuals and organisations. As a not-for-profit, we reinvest back into our communities, meaning our Policyholders help support themselves, their families, and the wider society too.
