Wolverhampton-based not-for-profit, Paycare, has further strengthened its commitment to the local community in 2025, delivering a wide range of initiatives supporting charities, young people, local sports, and regional cultural partners.
From grassroots sponsorship and work experience placements to charity fundraising, health cash plan provider Paycare continues to embed social value across its entire operations – building on a proud legacy of supporting Wolverhampton and the wider Black Country for over 150 years.
Ant Burns, CEO of Paycare, said: “As an organisation, we’ve always believed in supporting our community not just through what we offer as a health cash plan provider, but by actively contributing to the lives and wellbeing of those around us. We’re proud to continue backing vital causes across the region – whether it’s through our time, expertise, fundraising, or simply showing up to support.”
Paycare’s Chairman Kevin Rogers and non-executive director Jeremy Grace recently participated in a charity golf day in aid of the Grand Theatre, helping raise vital funds for the city’s much-loved cultural hub. This continues Paycare’s long-standing partnership with the theatre, including ongoing support for its Dementia Café initiative, which provides a safe, welcoming space for individuals and families living with dementia.
The business has also stepped forward to support Beacon, the local sight loss charity formerly known as the Beacon Centre for the Blind, in its landmark 150th anniversary year. This support included:
- Hosting a team presentation by Beacon to boost awareness and staff-led fundraising through Paycare’s dedicated My Giving scheme
- Mentoring from CEO Ant Burns, who shared insights into effective charity fundraising following Paycare’s own 150th anniversary in 2024.
- Participation in Beacon’s charity ball, set to take place later this year.
As part of its forward-thinking approach, the team recently welcomed two local school students, Rohan and Niamh, for work experience placements – part of a growing focus on offering more early-career opportunities for young people across the region in 2026 and beyond.
And, they proudly supported young local adventurer James March as he took on the gruelling Jungle Ultra challenge earlier this year, championing both resilience and charitable impact in one of the world’s toughest endurance races, raising much needed funds for two organisations supporting those with Multiple Sclerosis Wolverhampton MS Centre and WalkOnceMore
In addition, Paycare has thrown its support behind Darlaston Town Football Club, becoming the official shirt sponsor for the team – reinforcing its grassroots sporting commitment. The organisation continues its wider partnership with the Wolves Foundation, helping drive wellbeing initiatives across the city.
In its ongoing mission to support financial, mental, and physical wellbeing, Paycare is currently exploring a new partnership with NatWest to deliver a series of financial wellbeing webinars, offering practical support and resources to local residents and employees.
“Whether it’s helping people feel more confident with their money, or ensuring that a young person gets their first real workplace experience, we know that every small action matters,” added Ant.
“We’re exceptionally proud to be part of a community that shows up for each other, and as an organisation with deep roots in this city, we’re committed to continuing to do exactly that.”
