The Paycare Pirates took the oars to the next level with our recent charity boat contest seeing us finish in 8th place out of 18 teams!

Back in 2016 we embarked on a challenge to compete in the Dragon Boat Race at Himley Hall which not only brought the team, our family, and friends together for a whole lotta’ laughs, but all whilst raising funds for Compton Hospice and The Rotary Club for Wolverhampton. Though we did manage to raise a great figure for these charities, we were slightly embarrassed by the fact that we were placed last!

Two years on, we wanted to return with a vengeance. So last weekend, we completed the challenge once again at Himley Hall to prove that we aren’t massive losers in a bid to raise a target of £600 for our three chosen charities – Birmingham Children’s Hospital, The Good Shepherd Ministry and The Rotary Club for Wolverhampton.

As of today, Wednesday 30th May, we have raised a whopping total of £1000, and achieved a best time of 1 minute 7 seconds, placing 8th out of 18 teams!

Huge thank you to all of those who donated and helped us to reach (and exceed!) this goal 🙂
