We recently proved we’d do anything to support The Haven Wolverhampton, even walking across hot coals… 🔥
As well as sponsoring a Fire Walk in aid of the charity, an event which raised well over £6,500, our Partnerships Engagement Officer Sally Bromley even took part!
And we’ve also announced we’ll be continuing to sponsor the regular quizzes taking place to raise funds for the charity, which supports women and children fleeing domestic abuse and homelessness through a range of wrap around support services including but not limited to a range of accommodation, counselling and children’s services.
Sally said:
“By sponsoring the event, it means that every penny raised goes to helping ensure every helpline call is answered, and everyone in dire need of support is welcomed in with warmth and care.
“The Fire Walk was a great experience, and I was spurred on to complete the walk knowing that the money raised would be going to help such a worthy cause.”
Jade Secker, Fundraising Manager at The Haven Wolverhampton, added:
“We are so grateful to have the ongoing care and support of the team at Paycare.
“Throughout the years, they have made a phenomenal difference to the lives of the women and children we support who are sadly having to flee their homes (and all they know) due to domestic abuse.
“We are so proud to be supported by Paycare and to continue to work in partnership to raise awareness of domestic abuse; their support ensures we can continue to be a light in the darkest times of those who need us.”
The quiz nights take place at Fordhouses Cricket Club on Wobaston Road from 7pm, hosted by Dicky Dodd and costing just £20 for a team of four. The first this year will take place on Wednesday 9th February with further dates scheduled in for 27th April, 22nd June, 21st September and 7th December.
