The Grand Theatre has been treasured by local residents since its stage doors first opened over 120 years ago, but its future has been threatened in recent times due to the ending of its much-needed Lottery Funding.  We’re delighted that our support of this wonderful asset will see it continue to thrive and flourish.

We’re honoured to be official sponsors of the CJ Phipps booth – one of six dedicated private areas within the Theatre.  The booth is named after Charles J Phipps, the eminent architect who designed the now Grade II listed building back in 1894 – a masterpiece considered one of the very greatest achievements of his life.  And, with our own history in Wolverhampton dating back over 140 years (we’re proud to have been providing local people with health cover since 1874) – it was without question that we looked to support this historic attraction and ensure it can continue to serve the local (and wider) community both now and in the future 🙂

Next Tuesday (14th February) sees the opening of ‘Anita & Me’ – a coming-of-age play based on the semi-autobiograhical novel by acclaimed actress Meera Syal depicting her early life growing up in Wolverhampton. Click here for more info and to book tickets.
