Members of the Paycare team have been getting their hands dirty (with paint) recently as part of a volunteering project at a small independent charity in Wolverhampton.

Bonnie, Jas, George, Karen, Siobhan, Blahar, Ryan, Nicola, Anne, Ana, and Jodie lent their hands to brighten and provide a new lease of life to two of the rooms at Base25 – a charity which makes a real difference to the lives of young people in the local community.

Alan Jarvis at Base25, commented: “I wanted to say a HUGE thank you to the Paycare team and especially Bonnie for organising the two volunteering days – on behalf of the young people, staff, board members and myself, thank you!

“Paycare was the first company to support Base25 in this way since we opened 19 years ago, and the team has given the two rooms a whole new vibe – the main comment when people see it has been ‘WOW’. The Paycare team is of course welcome back with open arms, tea, coffee and biscuits at any time.”

Base25 is located in the heart of Wolverhampton city centre and was established in 1999 to provide a range of open access, high quality targeted and specialised interventions, both one-on-one and in small groups to address the diverse range of challenges and issues facing young people.

Its services are adapted to meet the unique needs of youngsters, with staff dedicated to improving their health, citizenship, social and personal development, and information and social education. Base25 is open for drop-in sessions daily, offers information and advice, and it has satellite locations across the city including at schools, youth centres and partner agencies.

Bonnie Webb, Business Analyst at Paycare, added: “Myself and the Paycare team were thrilled to support such a wonderful charity. We heard about the work they do through our Patronage of The Way Youth Zone in Wolverhampton, who informed us that some of the rooms at Base25 needed freshening up. An email was then circulated internally to see who was available to help and there was a brilliant response, with lots coming forward eager to get stuck in! We want to thank the Base25 team for having us, and for continuing to provide such worthwhile support to our local community.”
