As the end of 2019 fast approaches us here in the Paycare office, we are reflecting on our team’s fantastic charity efforts from throughout the year!
Following the launch of our charity initiative in April, we are celebrating collective success after raising over £17,000 for good causes in the region – how incredible is that?
If you didn’t already know, our Paycare MyGiving scheme provides each of our 32 employees with £250, giving them the opportunity to either donate directly to a cause of their choice, or use to amplify an existing fundraising initiative. You can learn more about our MyGiving Initiative here!
Incredibly, in just seven months, our team have raised an amazing £17,171.41 which has been shared with various organisations including Project GIVE, The Good Shepherd Ministry, and Bliss Charity!
Over £6,000 of this fantastic total was raised by one member of staff, who took part in a five-day trek of the Amazon for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity back in May.
Our CEO, Kevin Rogers explained:
“As a not-for-profit, we’re already committed to donating every spare penny to causes within our local communities, and we’ve shared over £2.2million to date through sponsorships, direct donations, and fundraising.
“Earlier this year, we came together to see how we could do more of this fantastic work whilst making it even more personal to our employees. The concept of MyGiving immediately felt right and offers benefits to everyone involved.
“We encourage our team to utilise the funds and support a cause close to their hearts, and it also helps us as an organisation to reach out to even more people. The results since April have been absolutely fantastic and we’re delighted that it perfectly aligns with our combined mission of helping others,” he concluded.
Our MyGiving initiative complements our additional community activities, which provides each member of our team with two additional days of holiday each year for the sole purpose of fundraising, donating, or volunteering.
Our MyGiving successes doesn’t stop there – another team member who maximised her MyGiving fund was Anne Smith, one of our lovely Policy Administrators here at Paycare, who put it towards her impressive fundraising total of £2,190.41 for The Alzheimer’s Society – how amazing is that? Anne also used her two days of volunteering to support our local community at The Beacon Centre for the Blind.
She said:
“It’s been a wonderful initiative, and although we’re all already part of Paycare’s commitment to giving back, it just strengthens our individual sense of purpose at work. I can’t wait to plan my volunteering days and MyGiving fund for next year, and look forward to seeing what the rest of the team will be doing!”
