MyPocketGP, offered by Paycare as part of many of its Health Cash Plans and its newly-launched Bundle employee wellbeing package, is run by Medical Solutions UK. The provider has just been officially recognised as the winner of the Best Virtual and Remote Healthcare Provision Category at the industry’s most prestigious annual awards.
The Health Insurance and Protection Awards has been running since 1998, and is regarded as the sector’s version of the Oscars. The provider categories are all voted for by advisors within the industry, and considered an ‘unparalleled recognition of excellence’.
The news comes as demand continues to rise for phone and video GP consultations, during the current health crisis. The award comes as Paycare’s MyPocketGP app was given a fresh new look in the summer to make it even easier to access the service.

The service is currently increasing capacity by taking on more GPs, after seeing calls rise by 21.5% from January-August 2020 compared to the same period in 2019. Around 16% of calls in that time were related to dermatology, with a further 14% about orthopaedics or musculoskeletal issues, and 12% about ear, nose or throat problems.
