A speaker from Samaritans is set to share information about the charity with attendees at our final free e-clinic of the year 📅

We have been hosting a virtual event once a month, with over 200 attendees in the last three months alone. Each session has given top tips and has been focused on a different topic related to mental health and wellbeing.

The next session, which runs from 10am to 11am on Friday 11th December and is focused on ‘Staying well connected’ will include guest speaker Steve Gilford, Deputy Director for Outreach and External Relations at Samaritans. He will share information about how the charity can help support individuals and their friends and family, day and night 📞

Attendees will also hear from our Wellbeing Manager Kerry B Mitchell about current research on the positive reasons to stay connected, the effects of loneliness, referral pathways and further training opportunities.

Kerry said:

“We think about Christmas being the happiest time of the year but, in reality, it can be a time where lots of people feel isolated or lonely. Particularly this year when so many people are having an extremely tough time, and we are not yet sure what festive celebrations will look like. It’s important to remember that there are reasons to be grateful, to remain mindful of our mental health and to continue to support the wellbeing of those around us.

“We are looking forward to welcoming guest speaker Steve Gilford to the session – the Samaritans is such an important mental health organisation for us all, so it will be fantastic to hear more about the work they undertake, and to remind us to seek support when it is needed, as we come to the end of an unforgettable 2020.” 🧠💻
