A Wolverhampton company which specialises in electrical maintenance and project work has turned to Paycare to help support employees.

It’s the first time since Midwest Mechanical and Electrical Services launched in 1988 that the organisation has provided a Health Cash Plan for the team.

Their HR Manager Natalie Burd explains:

“Our employees have dug deep through the pandemic; the company is a good position and we wanted to reward them.

“We are aware of long waiting times and rising everyday costs, so we thought this was a great way for our employees to claim cash back on things they don’t really want to pay out for like dental and optical care.

“Our clients have also been impressed to see how we are supporting our employees’ wellbeing.

“We love our city and are proud to be supporting a local company too!

“The online platform is so simple: everyone who has made a claim so far has said how easy it was, and great to see their money back in their accounts in no time.

“The customer service has been fantastic – there is always a friendly voice at the end of the phone.”

Natalie added Midwest had chosen a Paycare Health Plan because there were no excesses to be paid on claims, 100% cash back (up to an annual limit), and the EAP helpline which gives employees access to confidential support from trained counsellors.

We asked, would Midwest encourage other companies to consider a Health Cash Plan?

“If you are in a position to offer this to your employees then do it. Everyone knows how the pandemic has affected NHS services, with waiting times at an all-time high. It really is fulfilling to hear employees accessing a doctor via the app in a matter of days rather than weeks.”

One of the team members added:

“My partner also signed up to the plan and we have both claimed back money on a pair of glasses. It was so straightforward and simple to do. I would definitely recommend it to other employers.”
