We know that Orchard Healthcare are an unincorporated mutual association who have been providing products to both individual and
corporate members, throughout their 100-year history. When we were made aware that there were plans for the organisation to be dissolved in December 2023, with the support of the FCA, our Board and the Paycare Leadership team, we’ve offered to step in to support members.

Founded in 1874 by the foremen of some of Wolverhampton’s largest factories, in a bid to protect their employees from crippling medical bills, Paycare has since grown to become one of the most respected health cover providers in the UK. As a not-for-profit organisation, we’re committed to 3 things: our Policyholders, the communities we serve and our fantastic team. Paycare’s product is different to Orchard Healthcare’s. Members who are looking to apply should review our product information carefully to make sure that it meets their needs.

Am I tied into a contract?
No – all that we ask is that 30 days is given when cancelling the policy ensuring that the policy holders are treated fairly.
Why should I choose Paycare?
We’re proud of the way we do things differently. We’re not for profit, and people are at the heart of everything we do. We give our policyholders fantastic customer service, which is reflected by our most recent Customer Satisfaction Score of over 99%, and on average our policyholders stay with us for a whopping 22 years!
How do I set up my payments?
It’s quick and easy to set up payment to us, it’ll simply require a monthly Direct Debit.
Do I have to pay for additional services like EAP and MyPocketGP?
No. The EAP and MyPocketGP services are included in the cost of the plan, and cover unlimited telephone support as well as up to 6 face to face counselling services.
