While conventional medicine successfully fights infections, illnesses and harmful diseases, there are times when a prescription from the doctors doesn’t quite cure all of our aches or pains, this is where professional therapies can act as a suitable alternative.

The good news is that there are a huge number of professional therapy services available that treat a variety of illnesses and health problems, offering a wide range of benefits that can bring extremely valuable results.

Here are a few of the treatments that you might want to consider:

Acupuncture

Acupuncture can treat a number of conditions such as headaches, migraines and can also be used to support musculoskeletal conditions including back pain, strains, joint and dental pain to help maintain good health.

Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy helps to restore movement after an injury, illness or disability and can prevent or fend off further injuries or illness in the future. It can be used to treat individuals of any age and covers a range of problems from sports injuries, strokes, heart attacks and cystic fibrosis.

Chiropody

Chiropodists are often called podiatrists and treat a variety of conditions of the foot and lower limb, such as verrucas, ingrown toenails and arthritis. They are trained to prevent, diagnose and rehabilitate abnormal conditions of the feet and lower limbs as well as preventing and correcting any deformities, keeping people mobile and active.

Osteopathy

This treatment is used to identify, treat and prevent common health ailments including upper and lower back pains through the movement, stretching and massaging of muscles and joints. It works from the theory that the wellbeing of an individual depends on bones, muscles, ligaments and connective tissue all functioning together.

Chiropractor

Chiropractors are trained health professionals who diagnose, treat and prevent disorders of the bones, joints and muscles. They generally focus on neck and back pain, but take the physical, emotional and social wellbeing of a patient into account.

They use a range of techniques to reduce pain and increase mobility, including hands-on manipulation of the spine involving safe, gentle massage to free up joints that are not moving properly.
