Did you know there are an estimated 350,000 absences from work on the first Monday of February every year? The day when a higher number of employees call in sick than any other day of the year and some are deemed to be doing so unnecessarily because they are not really sick… Post-holiday blues, gloomy weather, anxiety/depression, financial worry and absenteeism (due to workload worry, colleague tension, personal life distractions, mental health problems or not fulfilled with employment), can all contribute towards employees calling in sick.
