How often can I make a claim?
You can claim as often as you need to, until you have used up your annual limit on each benefit.
Will I wait long between making a claim and receiving a refund?
We realise that many Paycare Gold policyholders are on a tight budget. Consequently, we aim to pay all valid claims within 48 hours of receiving them directly into your bank or building society account.
Do premiums increase as I get older, and will I need a medical?
No, whatever your age, the premiums are the same for everybody. Paycare Gold also has no upper age limit for new applicants and no medical is required, either at the start or at any point in the future.
How can Paycare Gold help me?
Why pay into a general plan that offers cover you will never need? Paycare Gold has extra cover for specific areas of healthcare. So there is added help for hearing aids, physiotherapy to help you stay mobile and other professional therapies to ease away aches and pains. There's also optional hospital in-patient cover.
Will I be covered for existing illness and medical conditions?
You will be covered for new conditions (covered in the benefits table), that are diagnosed after joining Paycare Gold. Please check your joining documents for when you can start to claim.
Are there any special benefits?
The following information relates to our Care Advisory Service which is included on all Gold plans:
Personal Nurse Adviser
The Care Advisory Service gives access to a personal nurse adviser if you suffer a serious illness (like cancer or a heart attack) a long-term, chronic health condition (like arthritis) or a disability that prevents you from doing normal daily activities like bathing, dressing or getting around.
Home Visit and Care Plan
A personal nurse adviser can arrange a home visit by a nurse, therapist or counsellor who will have time to answer your questions and provide practical and emotional support. Where appropriate a Care Plan will be issued showing you and your family what choices you have, and providing direction to specialist charities, self-help groups and service providers. Your personal nurse adviser will discuss your needs with you and help you decide what to do next.
When will I be eligible to use this service?
If you are diagnosed with a serious illness, chronic health condition, or long-term disability you will be eligible. In addition, if you receive payment under your Paycare Gold Plan for a hospital in-patient stay, your personal nurse adviser will contact you to see how you are, and whether there is any way in which the Care Advisory Service can help speed your recovery.
Is there any charge for the service?
No. The service is provided free, including the first home visit made by a nurse, therapist or counsellor. You can also remain in contact with your personal nurse adviser for as long as you need help and support. Any further home visits, or services arranged on behalf of a spouse or partner who is not a Paycare Gold policyholder, will incur a charge. Your personal nurse adviser will explain this to you.
