Paycare exists to help individuals, families and businesses protect themselves against everyday healthcare costs and bills. Operating surpluses are reinvested in improving policyholder benefits and charitable donations.

About Us

Paycare has been active in providing help with healthcare costs since 1874, when factory foremen first collected premiums to safeguard workers from doctor's bills. By 1931 an Association of more than 1,000 firms raised £25,000 for local hospitals. Today we still support medical charities - and thousands of ordinary families now benefit from the protection offered by our healthcare cash plans; by paying a small regular amount. It's a convenient and enduring tradition.

Paycare is a “not for profit” organisation. This means that any surplus is divided between improving the service for our policyholders and in supporting appeals and charitable requests, through the Paycare Charity Trust. Since its foundation in 1964, the Trust has donated almost £2,000,000 - which has helped pay for equipment and amenities to aid the treatment and recovery of patients in hospitals and hospices and to help registered charities who offer services of a medical nature and special needs. The Trust also aims to assist with medical research.

Kevin Rogers ACMA CGMA (Executive Director)

Kevin joined Paycare as Operations Director in 2009. Kevin started his career at Tarmac in Wolverhampton and subsequently held senior finance positions in manufacturing companies prior to joining Paycare. He is a qualified accountant and a member of the Chartered institute of management accountants. He was appointed Chief executive in April 2013.

Donald McIntosh (Non-Executive Director)

Donald joined the Board as a Non-Executive Director in July 2006. Working as Executive Director of Community Regeneration Partnership Ltd in Birmingham, he has held a number of Non-Executive positions which included being a Member of the West Midlands Strategic Health Authority and a Lay member for the Employment Tribunal Service. Donald is also involved in a number of other not-for-profit and charitable organisations in the local area. He has been a Paycare policyholder since 1997.He was appointed Chair of Paycare main board in May 2012 and Chair of the Nominations committee in February 2013.

Dennis Whitmore (Non-Executive Director)

Dennis joined the Board as a Non-Executive Director in December 2004. He was appointed as Chair in May 2007 and held that position until April 2012.Dennis was appointed chair of the Risk and Audit committee in February 2013. A qualified accountant, Dennis has recently retired as Financial Director at Clamason Industries Ltd in Kingswinford, a position he held from 1996.

Albert Bevan (Non-Executive Director)

Albert joined the Board as a Non-Executive Director in October 2003. Recently retired after a long career in facilities management with James Beattie plc, he now has a part-time role as Work Related Administrator at St Peters Collegiate School in Wolverhampton.

Michael Marsh BA MA MBA (Non-Executive Director)

Michael joined the Board as a Non-Executive Director in February 2003. Previously Head of Consultancy Services at Sterling International Brokers Ltd, Michael is now a Technical Specialist in the Prudential Regulation Authority within the Bank of England.

Waheed Saleem (Non-Executive Director)

Waheed was co-opted to the board in August 2013 and formally elected in April 2014. Waheed has extensive senior level management experience in the NHS managing significant budgets and teams. In addition he has gained extensive non-executive experience on local and national public and voluntary sector board in both Chair and Non-Executive Director roles. He is a Member of the Association of Corporate Governance Practitioners and Fellow of the RSA.

Senior staff are involved in keeping Paycare and the Paycare Charity Trust running smoothly and coordinating the work of all departments.

Business Development

The team looks for opportunities for Paycare to grow including introducing new customers to our health cash plans.


The team help Paycare’s corporate clients communicate their health and wellbeing plans throughout their business, increase brand awareness and handle all public relations.
